This is an excellent film! I loved it. One of my favourites this year. I always rate creatives taking a big swing but especially when they pull it off. Wicker is just that. It’s eccentric and I’d watch it again in a heartbeat.
The Guardian describes it as a “peculiar folk-horror romance” which made me chuckle because Wicker is as unique as that sounds. (Though I personally don’t think it comes anywhere near ‘horror’ really.)
I’m not going to say much more for fear any written description can’t do justice to how moving and thought-provoking and fun this is. And really, once you have Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård and Richard E Grant, do you really need any more persuading?!
